Maximum temperatures hover above normal in Punjab and Haryana

Maximum temperatures continued to hover above normal at most places in Haryana and neighbouring Punjab today.

Hisar in Haryana recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal, a MeT Department report said.

Residents of Ambala also braved a hot day at 38.2 deg C, one notch above normal. Karnal's maximum temperature settled at 39 degrees Celsius, up two notches.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 37.7 deg C, one degree above normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 38.6 deg C, two degrees more than normal.

The maximum temperature in Ludhiana settled at 39.6 degrees Celsius, up three notches, while Patiala's maximum was at 38.7 degrees Celsius, two degrees more than normal.
