Maximum temperatures hover below normal at most places in Har

Maximum temperatures at most places in Haryana today hovered below normal limits with Union Territory Chandigarh, which received heavy showers last night, recording a high of 33.5 degrees Celsius.

However, the maximum temperature at most places in Punjab hovered a notch or two above normal limits, the MeT department said.

In Haryana, Ambala registered a maximum of 31.5 degrees Celsius, down two notches against normal while Karnal recorded a high of 30.6 degrees Celsius.

Amritsar in Punjab recorded a high of 35.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal limits while the mercury in Ludhiana and Patiala settled at 34.1 degrees Celsius and 32.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
 

The weatherman has forecast rain and thundershowers at several places in the two states including Chandigarh over the next two days.
