Maximum temperatures hover below normal in Punjab, Haryana

Maximum temperatures today hovered a few notches below normal in Punjab and Haryana.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar had a high of 36 degree Celsius, three notches below normal, the MeT department said here today.

Ludhiana and Patiala had maximum of 37.3 degree Celsius and 38.2 degree Celsius, respectively.

The Union Territory of Chandigarh settled at 37.4 deg C, one point below normal.

In neighbouring Haryana, Ambala and Bhiwani saw mercury settling at 38.1 degree Celsius and 39 degree Celsius, respectively. Hisar and Karnal had high of 39 deg C each.

Dust-storm or thunderstorm along with light rain may occur at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours, as per the MeT department's forecast.
