Many parts of Chandigarh were lashed by showers in the afternoon while the maximum here settled at 33.8 deg C, the local Met office said here.
Hisar in Haryana received light showers and the maximum was recorded at 33.5 deg C.
Narnaul recorded a high of 31 deg C after being lashed by rains while Rohtak and Ambala registered highs of 33.8 deg and 34 deg C respectively.
In Punjab, Ludhiana's high was recorded at 33.7 deg C. Patiala recorded a maximum of 34.8 deg C while Amritsar's mercury settled at 34.9 deg C.
Mohali, Ropar and Balachaur in Punjab have received light showers.
The MeT has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers at a few places in both the states during the next 48 hours.
