Maximum wheat damage in Rohtak, Gurgaon in Haryana

Rohtak, Gurgaon and Kaithal districts in Haryana saw maximum wheat crop damage due to untimely rains and hailstorm with a total of 2.62 lakh acres wheat acreage getting affected by freak weather conditions.

In a latest report on Special Girdawari (Crop loss assessment) as on April 18, wheat and other crops in the area of 2,61,884 acres and 13,844 acres respectively between 25 per cent to 100 per cent got damaged because of inclement weather conditions.

As per report, 76 per cent to 100 per cent wheat crop loss was found in Rohtak at an area of 63,108 acres, Gurgaon at 10,245 acres, Kaithal at 5,386 acres, Faridabad 1,986 acres, Yamunanagar at 1,828 acres, Panipat at 986.7 acres, Karnal 1,392 acres and Ambala at 1,291 acres.
 

The 51 per cent to 75 per cent wheat crop loss was found in Faridabad at 5,788.5 acres, Yamunanagat at 1,382 acres, Panipat at 1,684.3 acres, Gurgaon at 2,682 acres, Kurukshetra at 4,626 acres, Rohtak at 4,757 acres, Karnal at 3,190 acres, Kaithal at 5,657acres and Ambala at 282 acres.

The loss between 26 per cent and 50 per cent in wheat crop was in Faridabad at 25,592.5 acres, Yamunanagar at 4,144 acres, Panipat at 5,500.7 acres, Gurgaon at 34,305 acres, Kurukshetra at 13,244 acres, Rohtak at 34,227 acres, Karnal at 9,087 acres, Kaithal at 15,359 acres and Ambala at 582 acres.

The Haryana government had already announced cop loss compensation of Rs 7,500 per acre for loss between 25 per cent and 50 per cent, Rs 9,500 per acre for 51-75 per cent loss and Rs 12,000 per acre for 76-100 per cent loss.
