The maximum temperatures in Haryana and Punjab today continued to hover around the normal level as Ambala in Haryana recorded a high of 36.7 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal.
According to MeT office, Hisar recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees C, which was within the normal range while Karnal registered a high of 37 degrees C, down one degree C and Narnaul at a high of 38 degrees C which was two notches below normal.
Ludhiana in Punjab also recorded below normal maximum of 37.6 degrees C while Patiala's maximum temperature settled at 37.4 degrees C, one below normal. Amritsar recorded a high of 38.5 degrees C.

According to a forecast of MeT office, light to moderate rains or thundershowers may occur at isolated places in the two states during the next two days.
