BSP sumpremo Mayawati today made a strong demand for resignation of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan till the probe into Vyapam scam was not complete.

"After exposure of scams in MP, Chattisgarh and Maharastra the claim of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of 'Na Khayenge, Na Khane Denge' has proved to be hollow," Mayawati told reporters here.

She said the death of people related to the scam under mysterious circumstances was a serious issue and supported the demand of CBI inquiry into it.

"The BJP government (in Madhya Pradesh), which was initially reluctant, finally decided in its favour under pressure of the Supreme Court," she said.

Mayawati alleged that in this "horrible case", the MP government was forced to announce a CBI inquiry.

She, however, alleged that the MP government could have written directly to the Centre.

"But to complicate the case, it filed an application in the High Court," she said.

"Chouhan should step down till the time inquiry is complete as his near ones are involved and it seems justified," she said.

Mayawati alleged that in terms of corruption and scams there was no difference between Congress and BJP.

She indirectly attacked BJP-led NDA government by accusing it of helping former IPL chairman Lalit Modi directly and indirectly.
