Mayor of Kota among 4 booked for duping

Four persons, including the mayor of Kota Municipal Corporation, were booked for allegedly duping a person of Rs 80 lakh, police said today.

Mahesh Vijay, mayor of Kota Municipal Corporation, Ajay Vashista and his daughter Pallavi Vashista and Anuj Sharma alias Vicky were booked on Thursday following court orders, Om Prakesh Sharma, ASI, Jhawaharnagar police station said.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of IPC including 306 (Abetment of suicide), he said.

Nitin Choudhary filed a complaint in the court stating that he along with the four had started a firm in partnership in September 2012 for which he had contributed Rs 80 lakh.
 

He alleged that he was harassed and tortured after the business started reaping profits following which the partnership eventually ended. However, he did not get his money back as agreed.

Choudhary in his complain also stated that he was harassed and tortured to the extent that he found himself on verge of committing suicide.
