The Income Tax department, which has summoned Ranchi Mayor Rama Khalkho on April 18 in connection with cash-for-votes case during Mayoral elections, today reviewed the case.

A senior IT official said Khalkho has been served notice to appear before the department's investigation wing on April 18 and another Congress leader Sunil Sahay on April 17 in connection with the case.

Khalkho, meanwhile, is still absconding after the court of judicial magistrate issued arrest warrants on April 9 following an FIR against her after Rs 21.9 lakh was seized from a hotel on April 7.

Congress leader Niranjan Shah and Sudhir Kumar Sahu were arrested in the case and sent to judicial custody.

Though the mayoral polling was held on April 8, the state election commission had put a hold on the counting following the cash seizure.

Khalkho, who recently joined the Congress in New Delhi, was backed by the Congress in the Ranchi Municipal Corporation elections.
