Union Agriculture Minister and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Sharad Pawar has filed an application in the city civil and sessions court seeking transfer of the suit filed by senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde challenging MCA election to any other court.
In his transfer application filed recently, Pawar stated the suit (filed by Munde) was based upon the interpretation of provisions of Memorandum of Association and Rules of MCA and it has been interpreted exhaustively by the sessions judge at the stage of notice of motion.
He observed the final disposal of the suit will also be mainly based on interpretation of the provisions of Memorandum of Association and Rules of MCA.

In his suit filed last year, Munde had challenged the rejection of his nomination to contest the biennial presidential election and also prayed that Pawar be restrained from functioning as MCA chief pending hearing of his application.
The city civil court on November 26 last year temporarily restrained Pawar from functioning as MCA chief.
However, the Bombay High Court on December 16 quashed the order passed by the city civil court.
Pawar's application will come up for hearing tomorrow before the Principal Judge of Bombay City Civil and Sessions court Shalini Phansalkar-Joshi.
