A MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation today met West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on problems in setting up industrial units in the state.

In a statement the chamber said a memeorandum was submitted highlighting problems related to setting up industrial units in the state, including delays in land acquisition and its conversion and in clearance under 14Y for acquring land in excess of 24 acres and that the excess land could only be held as a lease-holder and not as an owner.

The MCC said the ceiling should be raised to atleast 50 acres, as effective land use for industrial purpose was just eight acres due to regulatory requirements.
