"Due to polls, forces needed for demolition are otherwise deployed on election duty and hence the work cannot be carried on as we do it in normal time," he said.
The official also informed about demolition work carried out in Wazirpur Industrial Area a few days back.
Areas in SP Zone include Pahar Ganj, East Moti Bagh Lahori Market, Farash Khana, among other places.
In City Zone, demolitions were carried out at Ajmeri Gate, Chandani Chowk, Darya Ganj and Rohini Zone, while illegal constructions were removed in Pitam Pura, Pashim Vihar, Shalimar Bagh among others.
A portion of a school in Pashim Vihar was also sealed.
The NDMC and the East Delhi corporation is also carrying out the routine Monsoon survey on conditions of building, said Mann, who is also the PRO for EDMC.
"The survey has begun and it will continue till June to monitor dangerous buildings in the area. While very dangerous buildings will be given immediate eviction notice, for others we will ask the owners to carry it out themselves or we will do it later and recover the cost from them also for the same," he said.
