After missing the writing on the wall in Punjab, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is all set to address many rallies in the national capital ahead of the MCD polls.

A senior party leader said Kejriwal will begin campaigning from March 31 for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, which are slated for April 22.

Apart from Kejriwal, other senior party leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will also begin campaigning from the end of this month.

"Kejriwal is expected to address a series of meetings all over Delhi. These will be ward-centric on the lines of Kejriwal's campaign in the Delhi Vidhan Sabha elections," the party leader said.

The party fared badly in the recently held Assembly elections in Punjab and Goa, where it drew a blank.

AAP was expecting that a win in either of the states will bolster its ambitions for a nationwide reach, and give a major push to its prospects in the Delhi MCD polls and the Gujarat Assembly elections, which are to be held later this year.

However, the poor showing has demoralised the party workers in the national capital. A win in its home turf would surely give a boost to the party in the upcoming Gujarat polls.
