Not agreeing with the concept of a superstar seldom coming down to the roots, 'Buno Haansh' protagonist Dev says his becoming an MP infact stemmed from the philosophy to interact more with the Masses.

"Have I changed at all in the past few months! My smile and behaviour remain the same, I still believe in 'kismat'. I don't subscribe to the theory that to become a superstar you need to shut off from the people who made you what you are," Dev told PTI on the sidelines of Asian Kitchen festival, a fete celebrating the rich culonary tradition of different Asian countries.

Coming to the fitness regimen, Dev said, "If you are a foodie, it becomes difficult to cut down on culinary favourites and keep tab on calorie count."

"We have to stay fit and trim, to look good on screen. But why should I ask others to follow suit, why should I share my diet details," he said.

Dev, having shared excellent rapport with celebrity entrepreneur-chef Anjan Chatterjee, said he was willing to be used as part of any initiative to showcase our cuisine globally.

"Yes, like Bumbada (Prosenjit Chatterjee) I would also love to be part of any initiative to project Bengal's glorious art tradition and its contemporariness - from films to food. If I am approached, ready," he said.

In the first ever unique global cuisine meet, Master chefs from all over the far-east takes the foodie through the legendary kitchens of Asia from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Myanmar and China at Anjan's speciality flagship food hub the 'Mainland China'.
