Popular Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwari has said meaningful songs are in great demand and through these an artiste can remain in the field for a long period.
"Some singers using vulgar words in their songs can make their presence felt among a particular section of the society for some time, but certainly they neither earn respect nor money," Tiwari told newsmen here yesterday.
Tiwary, who is also the president of Delhi unit of the BJP and a member of Parliament, claimed he was very much an acting professional despite the busy social and political responsibility.
"I want to keep it alive despite my busy engagements socially and politically," the 47-year old singer said adding that despite his busy schedule in the political field, he was marching along with the present day artistes.
Tiwary was in the steel city to take part in a 'Bhajan Sandhya' programme.
In the programme, Tiwari said, he wanted to play his newly released 'Bhajans' based on Lord Shiva, but could not due to lack of Internet facility at the venue.
