South Eastern Railway (SER) has taken several initiatives to improve the passenger amenities and security in Tatanagar station according to a top SER official.
SER General Manager Radhey Shyam, who was here for inspection of ongoing projects in Tata-Chakradharpur section last evening, told newsmen that we have taken initiatives to provide passenger amenities and security at Tatanagar station.
Work on third railway line, to be set up between Tatanagar-Rajkharswan station, was going on between Sini-Gamariah-Adityapur section and likely to be completed in the current financial year, he said adding that the first phase of the work, third rail line beteen Rajkharswan-Mahalimurup stations, have already been commissioned.

The Chakradharpur division has also started construction work for second entry gate at Tatanagar station soon, Radhey Shyam.
As far as security was concerned, the SER has installed 48 CCTV cameras in and around Tatanagar station while process to recruit Railway Protection Force jawans was on, he said adding that more facilities at new reservation counter will start functioning by this month end.
To a query about a new express train between Tata-Banguluru via Hyderabad, which was announced in the last union railway budget, Radhey Shyam said it could not commenced as yet due to non-availability of coach but expressed hope the new train will be flagged off by next March.
