A mechanic has been arrested for allegedly killing a local criminal in Prasad Nagar area of central Delhi who had humiliated him by tying him to a tree and pissing on him, police said today.

Paras was shot dead in a street of Bapa Nagar locality in Prasad Nagar area on the evening of January 11. He was shot on head from a close range with a country made pistol, they said.

A case of murder was registered at Prasad Nagar police station and local cops led by SHO Vikramjeet Singh zeroed in on the suspect as Babloo, 34, a resident of Bapa Nagar. It was learnt that he was previously involved in nine criminal cases.

After several raids, police finally got tip about his meeting with a lawyer near Tis Hazari court and managed to catch him on yesterday, said Mandeep Singh Randhawa, DCP(central).

During interrogation Babloo claimed that Paras in order to establish his dominance in the area had insulted him a month ago. According to him, Paras had tied him to a tree and pissed on him publicly, he said.

Bearing the grudge, he found a chance as he found Paras drinking in the lane of Bapa Nagar in an inebriated state. He used the country made weapon which was earlier given to him by Paras for repair, to allegedly shoot him dead. Both were known to each other as they lived in same locality.

Paras also had a crime record including seven cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, theft among other offences, he said.

Babloo studied upto class 12th and later started working as an air conditioner and electrical appliances mechanic.
