Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said he was afraid of media when he took the decision of entering politics but gradually realised that they are the "best friends and guide."
"When I decided to enter politics, media was the only element I was afraid of. But over the period of time, I realised that mediapersons are the best friends and guide," he said while addressing a gathering on the occasion of National Press Day here.
Parsekar, who represents Mandrem constituency, is a three-time MLA from the area, located in extreme North taluka of Pernem.

"These suggestions play a vital role in shaping a politician," he said adding he is comfortable with the mediapersons now.
"Today I don't feel hesitant or get tensed thinking I have to face media, when I go for an event. I am comfortable with them," he said.
