A 23-year-old medical student was today found hanging from the ceiling inside her hostel room at Maulana Azad Medical College here in a suspected case of suicide, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Jyoti, a second MBBS student. A purported suicide note was recovered from the spot where she wrote that no one should be held responsible for her taking the extreme step, said police.
"As I have lost charm to live, I am stepping forward to end my life. I have no grudge against anyone," she wrote her in suicide note.
Her family lives in Sultanpuri area and her father works with Delhi Police. The police received a PCR call of the incident at around 1.30 pm.
"A friend of the deceased had gone to enquire about her in the hostel as she was not present in her class and was also not picking up her phone. Despite several knocks at the door, her friend did not get any response and she called the hospital's security and police as well. The door was broken open and Jyoti was fond hanging from ceiling dupatta," said a police official.
