Two final year MBBS students of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) here were barred from attending classes for allegedly ragging a junior student.

A first-year MBBS student was allegedly ragged by his seniors Prithvi Raj and Anush Yadav on February 13, when the victim was asked to walk on his knees and on glass pieces.

After a complaint by the victim's parents, KMC principal Ramachander Darak referred the matter to the college disciplinary and welfare committee.

Later, an enquiry committee recommended suspension of the two final year MBBS students for six months, in connection with the incident.

The enquiry report has been forwarded to NTR University of Health Sciences, the affiliating university, for a final decision.

The senior students have been barred for the time being, from attending classes, the principal said.
