Demanding suspension of two post-graduate medical trainees, students of the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital today sat on a strike.

The students were on strike since morning, but withdrew it in the afternoon when the prinicipal assured them that their complaint would be forwarded to the medical council.

The two trainees were also involved in the treatment of a medical student who suffered serious head injuries following a road accident. He died at the hospital on September 14.

Two doctors have already been suspended in the case after a five-member probe committee formed by the hospital had found faults in the treatment of Ritesh Jaiswal.
