Medium sugar prices firmed up further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to good stockist and retail demand in the backdrop of ensuing festivals.
While, small variety of sugar declined due to subdued demand amid adequate supply positions.
Medium sugar(M-30) rose by Rs 6 to Rs 3,210/3,352 per quintal from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 3,210/3,346.
However, small sugar (S-30) was slipped by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 3,076/3,190 as against Rs 3,076/3,195 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,210/3,352 (Rs 3,210/3,346).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,076/3,190 (Rs 3,076/3,195).
