Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today ordered transfer of Meerut Divisional Commissioner for not inspecting the 'Lohia villages', a senior officer said here.
The transferred commissioner is yet to be assigned new post, the official added.
"During his visit to Bulandshahr, the CM ordered transfer of Meerut Commissioner Bhupinder Singh and he has been put on the wait list," he said today.
Under the 'Lohia Village' scheme in the state, the Samajwadi Party government identifies certain villages with backward population and focuses on provision of electricity, roads, solar lights and hand-pumps, among others, there.
