Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Thursday stressed the need to focus on necessary steps to give a boost to India's automotive sector which contributes 7 per cent of the country's GDP.
"We all need to give push and focus on the 3 pillars of GDP i.e. consumption, investment and net exports for the growth of auto sector of India," said Meghwal, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, at a CII Conference here.
According to a CII release, the minister said auto sector has the capability to scale various challenges and imbibe the new technologies for better products and achieve new milestones for India, in the global scenario.
He also mentioned that the government is working continuously to increase the infrastructure that will bring the overall change with the support of the industry, the release said.
