Mehbooba inaugurates Nursing College

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today inaugurated a Nursing College at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) in Rajouri district.

Mehbooba, who was on a day-long visit to the Rajouri district, inaugurated the Nursing College at BGSBU and an additional block of District Hospital, an official spokesman said.

She expressed happiness that with today's inauguration all the three nursing Colleges set up by the BGSBU have become functional.

The Chief Minister said with nursing stream having a good global employability response, the government intends to promote nursing education in the state to provide quality human resource in the sector.
 

She said with more medical colleges and AIIMS coming up in the state, there would be a huge demand of paramedics which would be met by the alumni of these institutes.

Briefing the Chief Minister, who is also the Chancellor of BGSBU, Vice Chancellor Mussarat Javed said the university runs 25 academic programmes and this year eight new programmes besides some skill development courses have been added to the curriculum.

Earlier, Mehbooba threw open the additional block of District Hospital built over at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
