Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti today filed a second set of nomination papers for Anantnag Lok Sabha seat in Kashmir as a measure of "precaution" after some discrepancies were reported in her earlier nomination papers.

"The PDP President filed a second set of nomination papers as a measure of abundant precaution," PDP Chief Spokesman Naeem Akhtar said.

Mehbooba had filed her first set of nomination papers on Tuesday but the election officials found that she had not mentioned an "active" bank account number in her papers as required by the Election Commission.

Although the PDP president had furnished the active bank account number, she filed another set of nomination papers today.

Anantnag is going to polls on April 24 in the third of the five phases of polling in Jammu and Kashmir.
