Member introduces bill in LS for separate Vidarbha state

As many as 47 private members bills, including one demanding formation of separate Vidarbha state, were introduced in the Lok Sabha today.

Bills on flood control and banning of harmful pesticides were among the other proposed legislations.

Ashok Mahadeorao Nete (BJP) introduced the Commission for the Formation of the State of Vidarbha Bill, 2014. It seeks to provide for setting up of a commission for formation of separate Vidarbha state by re-organisation of Maharashtra.

B Mahtab (BJD) introduced the Euthanasia (Regulation) Bill to regulate termination of life of persons who are in a permanent vegetative state or terminally ill.

C R Patil (BJP) introduced a bill seeking abolition of begging and another one for special assistance to Gujarat for promotion of welfare of girl child, reduction in maternal and infant mortality rate and welfare of agricultural labourers.
 

A bill to ban the use of harmful pesticides was introduced by P Karunakaran (CPI-M).

Kirron Kher (BJP) introduced a bill to protect Good Samaritans from civil and criminal liabilities by establishing supportive legal environment.

Devji M Patel (BJP) moved a bill for effective steps for storage and marketing of fruits and vegetables.
