A suspected member of a notorious gang of robbers has been arrested in connection with a case of carjacking in Noida from south-west Delhi's Dwarka area.

Accused Mohammad Intejar Ali (34), a member of the notorious Danish-Monu gang active in Delhi-NCR, and his associates were allegedly involved in theft of a Honda City car two months ago from Wave Mall in the posh Sector 20 area of Noida, police said today.

While the other gang members were arrested, Ali was absconding. He was arrested on July 5.

"He was caught by a Crime Branch team near Goyala Dairy in Dwarka when he came to meet his associates in a Uber cab," said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner (Crime) of Police.

"He was operating a taxi with Uber Cabs. About one year ago, he joined Danish-Monu gang which was active in east Delhi and NCR. The gang would use his cab while committing crime to distract police attention," he said.

Ali was earlier arrested in a case of robbery at Pandav Nagar in east Delhi in March 2015.
