North Central Railway (NCR) today flagged off mainline electrical multiple unit (MEMU) passenger train which will ply between Kanpur and Allahabad.
Chief PRO of NCR, Vijay Kumar said people travelling on a daily basis from Allahabad, Kaushambi, Fatehpur and Kanpur were demanding a MEMU train for a long time.
The 12-coach train, with toilet facility, is scheduled to depart at 6.30 AM from Allahabad and arrive at 11.30 AM in Kanpur, from April 1 onwards. On its way back, the train will leave at 2.30 PM from Kanpur and reach Allahabad at 7.35 PM, he said.
Kumar said that the train will stop at around 27 stations including Bamrauli, Fatehpur, Sarsaul, Malwa and Ruma. This is a Holi gift for traders and workers travelling on a daily basis, he added.
