A 16-year-old mentally challenged girl was today allegedly sexually assaulted by a 25-year-old man at Pegadapalli village in the district, police said.
The accused sexually assaulted the girl when she had gone to attend natures' call. The local, who heard the girl's cries, rushed to the spot and rescued here. They nabbed the accused and handed him to the police, an official attached to Hasanparthy police station said.
A case was registered in this regard and a probe is on, he said.
