The woman, who is in her mid-twenties, was raped by a watchman of an abandoned building in Haridevpur area in the southern part of the city, said Subrata Maitra, DC (Behala).
"An FIR has been lodged. The woman alleged that she was raped by the watchman who has been absconding," Maitra said.
When asked about the reports that the woman is mentally challenged, Maitra said, "It apparently seems that she is mentally retarded."
