"Around 3.30 pm on Sunday, Bose came to Santacruz police station complaining that he is scared that someone would kill him. We calmed him down and offered a glass of water," senior inspector Shantanu Pawar said.
"When asked who was trying to kill him, he, however, did not give a reply, and left the place in a huff," the officer added.
He left the place around 4 pm and entered M T Building, a three-storey structure, positioned next to the police station.
"Immediately afterwards, passersby and a few constables standing outside the police station heard a loud thud and found Bose lying a pool of blood. He was rushed to a hospital, but was declared dead on arrival," said police.
