Continuing its slide for the third straight day, mentha oil prices eased by 0.11% to Rs 850.60 per kg in futures trading today as participants engaged in reducing their exposures amid sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June month shed 90 paise, or 0.11%, to Rs 850.60 per kg in business turnover of 169 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in July contracts traded lower by 40 paise, or 0.05%, to Rs 862 per kg in 71 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by traders due to low demand from consuming industries in the spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions mainly kept mentha oil prices lower at futures trade.
