Muted spot demand also affected prices

Mentha fall by 0.5% on profit-booking

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Amid profit-booking by speculators and muted spot demand, mentha oil futures drifted lower by 0.49% to Rs 906.70 per kg today.

Further, ample stock position in the spot market on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh fuelled the downtrend.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November declined Rs 4.50, or 0.49%, to Rs 906.70 per kg, in a business turnover of 261 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in December traded lower by Rs 4.10, or 0.44%, to Rs 919.80 per kg in 188 lots.

Marketmen attributed fall in mentha oil in futures trade to profit-booking by participants, coupled with muted demand at the domestic spot market against huge stocks.
