Mentha oil up 0.9% on rising demand

Oil for April contracts traded higher by 0.76%

Mentha oil extended gains for yet another day with prices rising 0.99% to Rs 831.90 per kg in futures trade today as participants engaged in enlarging positions amid tight stocks position in the physical market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 8.20, or 0.99%, to Rs 831.90 per kg, clocking a business volume of 384 lots.

The oil for April contracts traded higher by Rs 6.40, or 0.76%, to Rs 840 per kg, with a trading volume of 69 lots.

Market analysts said sentiment remained firm as traders engaged in creating positions on account of good demand from consuming industries and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
