Mentha oil down 1.2% on profit-booking

Commodity prices for May delivery drifted by 1.11%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices fell by 1.15 per cent to Rs 923.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued spot demand.

Besides, adequate stocks in the physical market following increased arrivals from producing regions put pressure on prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June fell by Rs 10.80, or 1.15 per cent, to Rs 923.90 per kg, with a business volume of 644 lots.

Similarly, mentha oil prices for May delivery drifted by Rs 10.30, or 1.11 per cent, to Rs 910.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 760 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and weak trend at spot market on subdued demand.
