Mentha oil falls by 0.8% on profit-booking

Speculators locked in gains at prevailing levels amid slackened spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil futures drifted 0.77% to Rs 985.60 per kg today as speculators locked in gains at prevailing levels amid slackened spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July eased by Rs 7.70, or 0.77%, to Rs 985.60 per kg in a business turnover of 246 lots.

Also, the oil for delivery in the August traded lower by Rs 7.30, or 0.72%, to Rs 1,002.10 per kg in 117 lots.

The fall in mentha futures was due to profit-booking by speculators after recent gains and sluggish demand at the spot market from pharmaceutical units, analysts said.
