Mentha oil declines by 0.2% on profit-booking

Speculators booked profits at existing higher levels amid sluggish demand in the spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices were down by 0.22% to Rs 715 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at existing higher levels amid sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December month fell Rs 1.60, or 0.22% to Rs 715 per kg in business turnover of 93 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in January next year traded lower by 50 paise, or 0.07% to Rs 726.90 per kg in 31 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels, driven by subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Besides, adequate stocks position in the physical market on increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh put pressure on prices, they said.
