Mentha oil prices fell by another 0.19 per cent to Rs 859.70 per kg in futures trading today as speculators engaged in reducing their positions amid low demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June shed Rs 1.70, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 859.70 per kg in a business turnover of 400 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in May traded lower by Rs 1.60, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 861.50 per kg in 166 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on muted demand from consuming industries in spot market against higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
