Mentha oil down 2.8% on profit-booking

Oil prices for the June delivery drifted by 1.07%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices fell by 2.88% to Rs 814 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-booking amid subdued spot demand.

Besides, adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh also led to the fall.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July fell by Rs 24.20, or 2.88%, to Rs 814 per kg, with a business volume of 108 lots.

Similarly, mentha oil prices for the June delivery drifted by Rs 8.90, or 1.07%, to Rs 818.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 367 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and weak trend at spot markets on subdued demand, traders said.
