Mentha oil futures fell by 1.38 per cent to Rs 1,648 per kg Wednesday as participants cut down their bets, tracking easing demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from major producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly exerted pressure on Mentha oil futures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the delivery for October declined by Rs 23, or 1.38 per cent, to Rs 1,648 per kg in a business turnover of 538 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in September was trading lower by Rs 21.60, or 1.31 per cent, to Rs 1,630 per kg, with trading volume of 168 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants, fall in demand from consuming industries at the spot market against ample stocks position weighed on mentha oil futures.
