Mentha oil prices rose by 2.82 per cent to Rs 1,097.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions amid pickup in demand from consuming industries.
Further, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh due to lower production of the commodity this season too supported uptrend in mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June were up by Rs 30.20, or 2.82 per cent, to Rs 1,097.80 per kg, with a trading volume of 335 lots.

Mentha oil for delivery in July also gained Rs 19.40, or 1.77 per cent, to Rs 1,110 per kg, with a business turnover of 976 lots.
Marketmen said besides firm local and export demand at the spot market, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh due to lower production of the commodity this season too supported uptrend in mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
