Rising for the second straight day, mentha oil added 0.75 per cent to Rs 682.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in enlarging positions driven by increased export and industrial demand amid tight stocks in the physical market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October gained Rs 5.10, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 682.50 per kg, with a trading volume of 327 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in November edged up by Rs 5, or 0.72 per cent, to Rs 692 per kg, with a business turnover of 45 lots.
Traders said sentiment improved further as speculators engaged in creating positions on account of good demand from consuming industries as well as exporters amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
