Mentha oil down by 0.4% on adequate supply

Falling for the second straight day, mentha oil prices eased by another 0.36% to Rs 911.10 per kg in futures in futures market today as traders engaged in trimming positions, triggered by ample stocks on higher supplies from producing region at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month January 2016 drifted by 3.30, or 0.36% to Rs 911.10 per kg in business turnover of 4 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in December contracts was trading lower by Rs 1.90, or 0.21% to Rs 900.60 per kg in 75 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by particpants on the back of adequate stocks on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh in the physical market against tepid demand from consuming industries kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
