Mentha oil prices fell 1.22 per cent to Rs 1,515 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in trimming their positions on the back of subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January declined Rs 18.70, or 1.22 per cent, to Rs 1,515 per quintal in a business turnover of 68 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in February contracts traded Rs 17.60, or 1.13 per cent, lower at Rs 1,534.60 per kg in 33 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to easing demand from consuming industries in the physical market against adequate stocks position on increased supplies from growing regions kept mentha oil prices lower.
