Mentha oil prices moved down by 0.36 per cent to Rs 863.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in reducing their positions, driven by a fall in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November fell by Rs 3.10, or 0.36 per cent to Rs 863.50 per kg in a business turnover of 25 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in October traded lower by Rs 3, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 854.70 per kg in 176 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to fall in demand from consuming industries in spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
