Mentha oil falls by 0.6% on sluggish demand

Speculators reduced positions amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices fell 0.56% to Rs 931.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Besides, adequate stocks in the physical markets on increased arrivals from producing regions put pressure on mentha oil.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June fell Rs 5.30, or 0.56%, to Rs 931.90 per kg in business turnover of 212 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in May eased Rs 4.70, or 0.50%, to Rs 918.50 per kg in 298 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to sluggish demand from consuming industries at the spot market against increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pulled down mentha oil prices.
