Mentha oil down 0.7% on profit-booking

Oil for delivery in March declined by 0.65%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices fell by 0.71% to Rs 870 per kg in futures trading today after speculators booked profits at prevailing levels.

Besides, subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market also weighed on prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April fell by Rs 6.20, or 0.71%, to Rs 870 per kg in a business turnover of 162 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in March declined by Rs 5.60, or 0.65%, to Rs 861.20 per kg in 1,062 lots.

Analysts said the fall in mentha oil futures was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators at higher levels and decline in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
