Amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices were up by 0.15 per cent to Rs 892.60 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December month edged up by Rs 1.30, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 892.60 per kg in business turnover of 83 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in January next year traded higher by Re 1, or 0.11 per cent to Rs 905.50 per kg in 102 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in mentha oil futures to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
