Amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices were up 0.24 per cent to Rs 917.30 per kg in futures trading today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month January 2016 was up by Rs 2.20, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 917.30 per kg, in a business turnover of 19 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in December moved up by Rs 1.80, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 905.30 per kg in 109 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators due to rise in demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
